Dad's in Heaven with Nixon

***
I have to begin by saying that I am in love with this Movie/documentary
about Chris Murry.
Every time it's on I have to watch it.  It's true that it does hit very close to home having a disabled brother but the personal story of this family is fascinating and extraordinary.
***
Tom Murray (Chris's oldest Brother) incorporated family movies spanning from the 30's to the 60's to show the backdrop of his happy family's history, he finds chaos, and a legacy of mental illness. His great-grandfather was Thomas E. Murray, whose inventions and patents would be the source of the clan's wealth. His grandfather, John F. Murray, a commissioner of the Port Authority under Franklin Roosevelt. He hobnobbed with Al Smith and Jimmy Walker, and was a bipolar alcoholic who died at 37. He also hated his youngest son, Tom Jr. and Chris's father, who also suffered from bipolar disorder.

Orchid Show Botanical Gardens.

Callery Pear Trees Greenwich Village
***
There are way to many things going on during the spring.
It's my favorite time to just walk through all the neighborhoods and parks.
I love walking through Fort Tryon Park, visiting The Cloisters.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art's medieval branch
is one of the best places to see varieties of plants in bloom.
The botanical gardens in NY is a flower oasis
and another fabulous place to walk.
The Orchid show on Broadway is going on now and this i promise
you is a show you cannot miss.
The show is a special theatrical presentation of a dazzling collection of orchids brought to you by the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory.
Bronx River Parkway at Fordham Road Bronx.
The special show continues through April 25, 2011. The Garden is open year-round, Tuesday-Sunday, 10am - 6pm.
