#2 RESPECT

Derek Jeter has only been a part of my
life for 8 years, but for many it has been double that.
Last night, in the Bronx, something extraordinary happened.
Jeter got it done, one more time.
I wasn't one of the lucky thousands that
got to attend his last home game.  Instead, i watched it at home.
His gratitude, talent, integrity, sense of responsibility, and
example he sets for all has been compared to the greats.
I have to say it was extremely emotional to watch.
The game played out like a Hollywood movie, except, it was real life.
"O Captain my Captain," you will be missed.

Elizabeth's 1st Birthday

Elizabeth turned one on Saturday!
Has it really been a year already?  Well she
was a precious little princess in her cupcake skirt.
Ryan and Sarah had some friends gather at
a playground in Central Park for a little
cupcake party.

Jack O'Connell

"O'Connell was never a bully, but he grew up around guys who would punch people whilst grinning, then have a laugh about it afterwards."
I started reading this article in the New York Times Style Mag
on the train about Jack and it really grabbed me.  Freeman writes about his pops and
his background...why he started in acting and his character.
I have been obsessed with the book "Unbroken" since I read it
over two years ago now.  I have blogged about it several times, a bestselling book by Laura Hillenbrand.  Toward the end of this article you get to read about the
relationship Jack and Angelina have, even Brad.  I had no idea
that Jack was going to be playing Louis Zamperini.  I was worried
about the actor they would find for this once in a lifetime incredible
part.  I'm happy Angelina waited through her "world-wide search of thousands"
to get to O'Connell.  This article has made me that much more
excited to see this film at Christmas.

This Wine is 33 years old. Certainly doesn't show it's age

This Friday is my 33rd Birthday.  HAHA, i just thought about that.
I'm staring out the window watching the geese take over our yard
by the dozens and knowing I don't really have much to say about this.
While on any other Birthday I know I would have a mouthful.
I've disciplined myself to live day by day.  I'm getting a lot
better, at the beginning of the year it was moment to moment.
This year I had to bury my pride and ask for help and guidance, and
if anyone knows me well, knows that
that has been one of the hardest things ive ever had to do.
I have come to recognize and appreciate the beautiful people
I have in my life.  I am a very very fortunate 33 year old woman.
I'm grateful for a million and one things worth loving-the old Italian Artist
Paulio Corvino who gives me wonderful conversation and company (haha
I know he thinks It's the other way around), for my Dad's laugh and bear hugs and
my moms daily phone calls.  Smiling strangers on the sidewalk or subway (yes it happens...sometimes).  My girlfriends who build me up and give me courage and they're beautiful baby's who have come into the amazing world.  My two sisters Maebell and Hannah and their unwavering love and belief in
me,  the spiritual phone calls from my brother Jacob that helped me get
through the rest of the day,  my health-the fact that I can put both feet on the
ground in the morning and walk without pain or sickness, my beloved Saint Joseph,
the macaroons at the french bakery in Eastchester (a dangerous 5 miles down the road),  my girl Reagan-her unrelenting support, love and her gift of being able to make me laugh NO matter what.  The trials my faith has overcome and the strength it has gained,   sunrise walks through Central Park, words of wisdom from David,  for Lacanda Verde's Pappardelle with lamb bolognese  and the excited simplicity in what I feel when I
smell oils and acrylics inside my painting studio.
All I want is to remain on the road I'm on and pray
that I can recognize all the little doors and windows the Holy Family
is opening in my direction.

Promontory Point for Lisa & Marky Mark

Mark & Lisa's Ceremony and reception were both held at Promontory Point.
This beautiful setting is an historic landscape and the focal point of Chicago's Burnham Park that was home to Chicago's second World's fair in 1933-34.  The "Point" was created by landfill in the 1920's.
It was threatening rain all day, but the clouds disappeared and the sun came out.  It's a special place for the Bride & Groom.

A Chicago Steak Dinner

Lisa and Mark held the rehearsal dinner at
Gibson's steak house in downtown Chicago
on Aug, 29th 2014.  The Wolfe's were there!
Ready to eat, laugh and visit with our family and all of
Mark's and Lisa's dearest friends.
Thank you for including all of us.
It was a night to remember.
