On Friday evening I made Tony and myself
a fabulous dinner. Steak (of course) with
arugula and homemade blue cheese dressing.
He kept asking me if I wanted to go out? He knows me well enough
to know when i have my lounge clothes on by 5pm there is
no hope of getting me out of the house. I didn't know it then but
the poor man was improvising in his mind.
I said "look i recorded Yankee Doodle Dandy!" in a very excited tone. But he
loves it because I have recruited him into the fabulous world of black and white
classics. Musicals especially. Tony will even admit he wants
to be Gene Kelly. So after dinner we snuggled up and started watching the film.
He was fidgeting and being, quite frankly, annoying. more then half way through the movie
I'm pretty sure in the middle of "Glory Hallelujah" and the boy scouts saluting to
"It's a Grand ole Flag" He gets down on his knees and starts purposing to me.
I had no idea what was going on and i actually shushed him, ha-ha, the poor guy.
Then i kind of got it, everything was just so wonderful and funny and perfectly ME, no perfectly US.
The ring is breathtaking! He is so charming, reliable, funny, God-loving and sensitive, all in one big attractive manly package.
We popped Champagne and called all our friends and Family.
It's incredible how things happen and work out. I love this Man SO SO much.
and i cant believe I'm an engaged woman now! I cant wait to see what the next 100 years takes
us. I love you my Darling.
